Thus, there will no longer be any additional requirements or limitations for domestic passengers to travel to Hawaii. They will no longer need to worry about QR codes, fill out online forms through Safe Travels, or provide proof of vaccination.

The COVID-19 Emergency Rules have been repealed at the county level by Hawaii, Maui, and Kauai counties. On Sunday, March 6, 2022, the Safe Access Oahu program of the City and County of Honolulu ended.

The program played a key role in keeping Hawaii’s residents safe before vaccinations were widely available and during the surges we’ve seen through this pandemic. The Governor’s decision strikes a good balance between maintaining reasonable health precautions and reopening our society and economy. “Bringing the Safe Travels program to a close reflects the recovery we have made as a state,” said Governor Ige.

Any visitor to Hawaii who did not present a negative test or proof of complete vaccination before their flight was previously subject to a strict quarantine. The initial quarantine lasted for 14 days before being shortened to 5 days.

The federal U.S. entry requirements include presenting proof of an up-to-date vaccination document and a negative pre-travel COVID-19 test result obtained within one day of travel must still be followed by travelers arriving in Hawaii on direct international flights.

Maui Safe Travel Program
